Big win for Syracuse
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 21 - 11 - 2011

Playing for the first time since a top assistant coach was accused of sexual abuse, No. 5 Syracuse romped to a 92-47 win over Colgate in the N.I.T. Season Tip-Off Saturday.
It was business as usual for the host Orange (4-0) on the court, even as the program was trying to come to grips with molestation allegations against the assistant Bernie Fine. Syracuse placed Fine on administrative leave “in light of the new allegations” that he molested two former ball boys for years. Fine has dismissed the allegations as “patently false.”
Dion Waiters scored 16 points and James Southerland 14 for Syracuse in its 46th straight win against Colgate (1-2) dating to 1962.
Presbyterian 56, Cincinnati 54: Khalid Mutakabbir, who scored 25 points, led Presbyterian back from a 15-point deficit with 10 minutes left and hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 7.6 seconds left, rallying the Blue Hose (3-2) past No. 20 Cincinnati (2-1) on the road.
Kentucky 85, Penn State 47: Doron Lamb scored 26 points and Kyle Wiltjer 19 to lead No. 2 Kentucky (3-0) in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament in Uncasville, Conn. Tim Frazier had 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Penn.
Louisville 69, Butler 53: Kyle Kuric hit two of his three 3-pointers in the final five minutes, finishing with 17 points for No. 8 Louisville (3-0), the highest-ranked team to visit Indianapolis's Hinkle Fieldhouse since No. 5 North Carolina in 1992. Khyle Marshall scored 20 points for Butler (1-2).
Wisconsin 69, Wofford 33: Josh Gasser scored 16 points for No. 14 Wisconsin (3-0), which finished the first half on a 19-2 run to take control over visiting Wofford (1-2).
Gonzaga 73, Hawaii 54: Robert Sacre, playing in his native British Columbia, had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead No. 22 Gonzaga (3-0) at Rogers Arena, home of the Vancouver Canucks.
Vanderbilt 86, N.C. State 79: John Jenkins scored 28 points, and No. 18 Vanderbilt (3-1) closed on a 10-2 run against North Carolina State (2-1) in the semifinals of the TicketCity Legends Classic in East Rutherford, N.J. Women
Maryland 70, UMBC 59: Tianna Hawkins had 19 points and 18 rebounds to lead No 10 Maryland (4-0) against host University of Maryland Baltimore County (2-2).
Rutgers 61, LA Salle 48: Khadijah Rushdan scored 20 points and April Sykes 12 to help No. 15 Rutgers (3-0) overcome 35 percent shooting. The visiting Scarlet Knights closed on a 10-3 run through the final 4 minutes 52 seconds.
