A Christian priest embraced Islam in South Korea recently with the help of the leading cleric of that country. “A reputable Christian priest in my country, who holds a doctorate in sociology, has embraced Islam with my assistance,” said Abdul Wahab Zahid Haq, Grand Mufti and founder of the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Center in South Korea and one of the guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this year's Haj. The Grand Mufti said the priest had been impressed with the practices and discipline of Muslims and had then started to seek more knowledge of the religion. “The priest came to me last Ramadan to inquire about Islam. I explained it to him as clearly as I could, answered his questions and gave him a book on Islam. “I prayed that Islam might settle in his heart so that he would travel with me to Makkah and perform the obligatory Haj and answer Allah's call. “My wish came true with the priest embracing Islam. This well-known new Muslim revert has been able to have an effect on his surroundings and society. Several others have embraced Islam due to his influence. Thanks to Allah, my wish has come true and he has come with me. He is now one of the guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques,” he said. The Grand Mufti of South Korea praised the Muslim World League (MWL) for serving Muslims and spreading the message of Islam according to the teachings and values derived from the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh). He said these efforts had resulted in many Christians embracing Islam in South Korea.
