Published in The Saudi Gazette on 06 - 10 - 2011

KB Arun Karthik turned out to be an unlikely hero hitting a stunning six off the last delivery of the match to power Royal Challengers Bangalore to the semifinals of the Champions League Twenty20, beating South Australia Redbacks by two wickets.
RCB thus joined Mumbai Indians, New South Wales Blues and Somerset in the last four. The Redbacks had scored a commanding 214 for two in 20 overs which the RCB chased down with two wickets in hand.
Scores: Royal Challengers Bangalore 215 for 8 (Dilshan 74, Kohli 70, Tait 5-32). South Australia Redbacks 214 for 2 (Harris 108 n.o., Ferguson 70).
In the semifinals, Somerset will take on Mumbai Indians at Chennai on Oct. 7 and Royal Challengers will meet NSW Blues at Bangalore on Oct. 8.
Earlier, Alfonso Thomas bowled two strangling spells for Somerset to ensure it beat Warriors and qualified for the semifinals. Scores: Somerset 146 for 4 (Kieswetter 56 n.o., Botha 1-20). Warriors 134 for 8 (JJ Smuts 38, Thomas 2-16).
