Bakbel Europe, BakeMate Saudi training course attracts chefs
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 05 - 10 - 2011

Ahmed Abed Trading Est. (BakeMate Saudi Arabia), the sole distributor of Bakbel Europe products in Saudi Arabia, successfully organized a training course in making and decorating desserts in Jeddah and Dammam on Sept. 25-28 consecutively.
It has earlier signed an agreement with Bakbel Europe as exclusive distributor in Saudi Arabia. Bakbel Europe is an internationally renowned producer of fruit-based ingredients for pastry glazing and baking such as Diamond Glaze, Saphire, Superglans and Les fruits - particularly for its best quality fillings, icings, toppings and jam.
Chefs from hotels, restaurants, cafe shops and pastry shops participated in the event, and relished watching and listening to the recipes by the French chefs.
French international chef Mr. Benoit presented some of the most famous recipes, including the award-winning World Cup which has won an accolade in 1999 as the most creative dessert. He also demonstrated how to decorate other desserts by using hot and cold glazing jelly and other fruit based preparations such as Apple filling with crunchy Apple cubes, Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Red Cherry, and Apricot. All fillings have 70 percent real fruit content within the fruit preparation.
On the occasion, Yves Keyaerts, the Export Manager of Bakbel, said: “This is an experience and practical training for the best chefs in Saudi Arabia, where we impart what is new and modern in the confectionery industry.''
Noting that the industry is flourishing in Saudi Arabia, Keyaerts, who is on his first visit to the Kingdom, said “we must develop and invent new types of raw materials for manufacturing and decorating sweets to meet and savories the customers need with high quality standards.''
Mohanad Abed, Executive Vice President at BakeMate Saudi Arabia, said the company “is doing its best to communicate with customers and to provide them with the latest developments in confectionery industry.”
“Inviting talented international chefs to provide special courses to the Saudi market is in line with the company's commitment to give the best services to our clients,” he noted.
