In its second session, which was held Sunday, the special security court continued looking into the case raised by the Prosecutor General against 41 people accused of terrorist activities; 10 suspects appeared before the court on a number of charges. Charges include disobedience to the ruler and going to Iraq to fight, joining a terrorist cell and carrying out terrorist acts against US forces in Qatar, recruiting individuals to the terrorist cell, providing funds to the recruited individuals in Iraq, providing cover for terrorists and not reporting them to the police. The session was attended by a representative from the National Society for Human Rights and media reporters. At the request of some suspects, the judge asked reporters to leave the court before he read the charges. At the end of the session, the judge handed out copies of the charges to each so each suspect could respond to them. There are 41 men, 38 Saudis, one Qatari, one Yemeni and one Afghan, accused of setting up a terrorist cell and using the Kingdom's territory to plan and execute terrorist operations against US forces in Qatar and Kuwait. They have also been accused of financing ongoing fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, recruiting individuals for the Al-Qaeda Organization in Iraq and setting up a border passage to smuggle fighters, weapons and money between the Kingdom and Iraq. Charges also include: storing computer files that encourage violence and Takfeer, embracing ideologies against the Prophet's sayings and Traditions, videotaping fighting and combat operations, sneaking into the Kingdom through its border with Iraq, setting up a military camp in Yemen for training terrorists and possessing weapons and ammunition.
