The head of the office of the organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Baghdad, Ambassador Hamid Eltinay, will be in the Iraqi capital next week to open resident office and assume his duties. Opening the OIC office is in implementation of the organization's decision to support stability, unity and sovereignty of Iraq, an OIC press release said here on Monday. The office will work towards national reconciliation efforts, ending sectarian violence based on Makkah Document signed by prominent Iraqi scholars last year, and helping in humanitarian and reconstruction endeavors in Iraq. Meanwhile, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has announced that the next OIC summit will be held in Egypt in 2011. In a press statement issued in Cairo, Ihsanoglu said the summit will be preceded by a meeting of Islamic foreign ministers in Syria next year. Commenting on the OIC stand on the Iranian nuclear issue, Ihsanoglu said all OIC member states have the right to acquire nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. __
