Bir Charitable Society in Abha has deposited a total of about SR1.4 million in the bank accounts of 4,700 needy families. Beneficiaries receive their financial assistance in two payments — at the beginning and end of the holy month of Ramadan. Muhammad Bin Saeed Fahhas, the society's director in Abha, said Ramadan baskets with basic food commodities, worth over SR2 million, were distributed to the needy families. The charity will also hold 14 camps during Ramadan at mosques in Abha. It will also distribute 40,000 breakfast meals at traffic lights and roads leading to parks and at city entrances; 1,200 daily meals at mosques, camps and the homes of needy families; and 2,000 sets of Eid Al-Fitr clothes to persons of different ages.
