BRJ lauds move on more jobs for Saudi women
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 14 - 07 - 2011

Rola Basamed, Director of Bab Rizq Jameel (BRJ) Jeddah, stated that the last Monday's decisions of the Ministry of Labor to provide job for women at shops catering to women will certainly contribute in creating more job opportunities for women in this sector. Basamed said that BRJ offices around the Kingdom are coordinating with companies and establishment and cooperating with the Labor Office and Human Resources Development Fund to create hundreds of job opportunities every month.
Basamed praised the decisions for insisting on creating the right environment for women through providing security services or other supportive services, saying that the Saudi females need to feel secure at workplace, commitment in salary payment and incentives that add to commitment towards the job. According to Basamed, an important factor is to make families feel confident that the work environment is suitable for their daughters. This includes provision of transportation to and from the workplace.
Mohammed Abdul Latif Jameel, chief job creator at BRJ, said earlier that "young men and women who applied to BRJ for job opportunities were highly successful, supported by a dedicated team of more than 400 job creators."
Basamed believes that presence of working women at shops catering to women will increase incomes for businessmen, taking into consideration that women prefer to buy their personal clothes from another woman, not from a man. The pilot employment processes conducted by BRJ in coopeation with companies and establishment were highly successful, with increasing demand to provide more job opportunities for females in lingerie and other women shops. Basamed said, "Every new experience has its pros and cons. Our role is to maximize pros and find solutions for cons. We are so pleased with the work from home decision, which will provide new opportunities for females who want to join the workforces but they are unable to leave their homes. Work from home is the only way for them. Prior to this decision, women used to work from home without any guarantees, and after the decision, they will be able to work with confidence and show outstanding performance. A work from home job became an official job in terms of rights and duties."
The female employment center at BRJ is working hard to assist companies and factories.
