RIYADH: Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) offers all its postpaid and prepaid subscribers unlimited free SMS messages within its network Wednesday in celebration of its 6th anniversary, the company said in a statement Monday. Mobily said the offer comes in appreciation and recognition to its subscribers for their major role in its successes achieved in the past years, which has a strong impact on the enrichment of telecommunications sector with high reliability services packed with the world's highest technologies. Mobily works hard and spend more efforts to consolidate and realize its GED strategy, which was launched recently, thereby maintaining its leadership of the telecommunications sector in Saudi Arabia, as well as to continue its achievements. Mobily won, over five consortiums, the second license for mobile phone operator in Saudi Arabia in summer 2004, and after six months of technical and business preparations, Mobily launched its services in May 25, 2005. In less than 90 days, Mobily announced that it exceeded the threshold of one million subscribers, hence, described as the fastest ever growing mobile phone operator in the Middle East and North Africa by the end of 2006. Meanwhile, the company announced that its subscribers exceeded the barrier of 18 million subscribers by the end of 2009. Now it has more than 2.3 million subscribers in mobile high speed broadband packages.
