A TOTAL of 106 events are scheduled in different locations as part of Jeddah's Summer Festival, an official said. “We don't have enough budget, otherwise we would arrange a much bigger summer festival and a lot more events for Jeddah residents ,” said Mohammed Gari who heads the festival's organizing body. “If we had 30 million riyals we would have arranged a bigger festival than this,” he said. “Our budget was just 10 million riyals, and with this limited budget we did all that was possible. Among the 106 programs are family, cultural and sports events, and competitions. Here are some of the main ones: • Family cultural shows for 5 days between July 15 to Aug. 12 at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI). These include family programs, educational programs, cultural programs and discussion on different social problems. • At Obhur Beach area, different programs like roller skating , “Jeddah's Strongest Man”, swimming • Motor bike show, car show, children's drawing competition at Nowrus Roundabout, July 23-25. • Jet ski show, and other water games competitions, fishing competition, beach soccer, water volleyball, water basketball and other programs at Obhur Shumali Alexadria Beach and Hamra Beach from July 3. • Jeddah Film Festival at JCCI, July 22-25. • Summer Ice Show at Muntazah Center, Aug. 13-30. • Panorama Road Show at Shallal and MBC-FM Road Show at Roshan Mall, July 1-31 • Official opening of 29th Jeddah Festival, July 2 at South Obhur. __
