Published in The Saudi Gazette on 15 - 05 - 2011

GEORGETOWN, Guyana: Pakistan needs 219 runs on a difficult pitch to win the 1st Test after dismissing West Indies for 152 Saturday in its second innings.
Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal grabbed his second five-wicket haul of the match at the National Stadium, taking 6-42 and ending with match figures of 11-111.
West Indies started the day at 34-2 and Ajmal quickly ran through the top order.
Veteran Shivnarine Chanderpaul compiled a stubborn and undefeated 36 off 127 balls and shared a 48-run last wicket stand with Devendra Bishoo (24).
Bishoo survived one chance at 15, when Mohammad Hafeez grassed an edge off Wahab Riaz.
After going to lunch at 96-7, West Indies lost captain Darren Sammy (9) soon after the interval, leg before to left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman.
Ajmal claimed Ravi Rampaul (2) to a bat-pad catch at short leg as Pakistan took control.
West Indies hit back strongly Friday as 13 wickets tumbled on the second day.
Pakistan offspinner Saeed Ajmal completed career-best figures of 5-69 as the host, 209-9 overnight, was bowled out for a modest 226. But debutant legspinner Devendra Bishoo countered with 4-68 to give the West Indies a first-innings lead of 66 as Pakistan was skittled for 160. Fast bowler Ravi Rampaul took 3-27, while captain Darren Sammy also claimed two crucial dismissals.
The host limped to stumps at 34-2 in its second innings. Ajmal collected his second career five-wicket haul half an hour into the day when he claimed Kemar Roach (24) to a short leg catch.
But Pakistan's joy was short-lived as its reply stuttered early when Rampaul rattled the stumps of Mohammad Hafeez off an edge to make it 5
