Our ancestors and our reality
Published in Alriyadh on 24 - 07 - 2011

For the second time I praise the awareness subject that Dr. Ibrahim Al Matrodi treats some low awareness levels in our society, resembled more than what it looks in who they claim the merit of religion while they need rehabilitation.
The subject was about the lack of the visuals, circumstances and influences of the current generation in the attempts of changing any argument with the Western present to what was said or acted by the previous generations of our ancestors in the Arab world. This change that establishes a disability in the current mind and takes away any presence importance ignores that this present is made by hierarchical of scientific, intellectual social and economic importance that are totally away in its importance and development influences from what our ancestor generation used to live in, especially that Islam didn't close the Arab mind on the concepts and constants of the older ages. If so, we wouldn't see in the personal history of Omar Bin Al Khattab – may Allah be pleased with him – the renewal and creativity in social relations, yet he was not away from the beginnings of Islam more than thirty years, but how is the situation now in the beginning of the Islamic fifteenth century. This is one point; the other one is that the ancestors that were jurisprudentially notable were only in the notable Arab urban places back then and were not in the Arabian Peninsula, which experienced a continuous neglecting from the two capitals, Damascus and Baghdad, in the Umayyad, Abbasid and Ottoman ages, while we find the capitals of Islamic countries living an openness that is not limited to only the old concepts, such as the awareness quality that the Azhar notable Imams treat the conflicts of the present, among them some who completed his higher education in notable universities in France and Britain where the culture is an international expansion and not regionally limited.
We are the ones that need socially to awareness openness the most, which will benefit Islam and will provide its human positives in dealing with woman, impartial arts or relation with non Muslims, where Islam don't allow the concept of assault on any religion as long as it's not a self defense, and it is what Khalifa Omar Bin Abdelaziz approved by stopping the concept of absolute Jihad.
