Ministry of finance signs a contract tom import 2.7 million tons of barley
Agriculturists: the fodder support decision solves the struggle of the agriculture sector

An official source in the Ministry of Finance assured a contract to import 2.7 million tons of barley, where it was agreed to ship them to the Kingdom's port in Ramadan and Shawwal months. The source also pointed that the ministry is to import additional quantities of about 3,5 million tons to cover the needs of the period between the next Thi Al Qeda up to Moharram while maintaining sufficient stock locally.
All the loading points in all Kingdom ports are currently functioning with its maximum capacity, where more than 800 trucks are being imported daily with a capacity of 25 tons of barley per truck to insure around 400 thousand barley bags of the 50 kilograms weight for the consumers in all Kingdom regions.
From their side, the officials in the agriculture sectors valued the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to increase the support of fodder and its inputs by 50% and tightening the control on the market and goods prices and punish all the greedy violators, pointing that this initiate reflects positively on the products and the consumers.
The president of the Agriculture Cooperative Association in Hael Engineer Khalid Abdulmohsen Al Batee said that the initiatives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques carried within them good promises and unlimited generosity that delighted this loyal people that loves its leadership and nation, because his positions with the citizens and spreading good projects and generous approvals had a notable impact in the hearts of those in need and it is still continuous with the prosperity of the generous country.
He also added that the increase of the support of fodder and its inputs by 50% and the direction of the responsible authorities to tighten the control on the market and goods prices as well as strictly punishing all the greedy violators is a clear formation and an assured evidence for those continuous stands that the leadership devotes to support the sectors such as agriculture, which is considered to be the main axis in the economy of the country, where the decisions will contribute in supporting the sector and solving all of its negatives and obstacles.
From his side, businessman Alian Bin Rashid Al Harbi assured that the decision of increasing the support of fodder and its inputs by 50% came in an important time and will meet a lot of the agriculture sector needs as well as support the needs of a big section of agriculturists.
