Emirati traffic radars catches the violating Gulf cars and charge them up to 10 thousands Dirham fines

Speeding and hiding the number plates are their major violations, and the punishments can reach up to seizing the vehicle.

An Emirati official stressed on chasing the cars that come from outside countries
that violate the speed limits or paint the car to hide the number plate features
and confuse the traffic radar, assuring that the administrative supervision caught
a number of violating cars and were referred to the specialized authorities,
clarifying that the applied fine ranges between 10 and 20 thousands dirham.
The Emirati official assured to "Al Riyadh" that the external patrols in Abu Dhabi
held more than 5 vehicles of Saudi citizens that came from the Kingdom to the
Emirates by car, painting their cars with temporary paint and covering their
plate numbers thinking that it will prevent them from getting caught by the
radar system on the highways that defines a speed limit.
He also pointed that the systems in UAE show who covers his number plate on
demand, which is considered as an identification of the vehicle and doing such
thing is considered to be a violation of the security and traffic systems. He also
said that a number of Saudi vehicles were held and the cases were referred to
the specialized authorities, assuring that the Judiciary is responsible for judging
