Hereditary Republics have fallen!
Published in Alriyadh on 06 - 02 - 2011

Since the foundation of modern states, the Arab World witnessed monarchies, royalties, amiri and republican governments. The latest replaced a lot of monarchies with different names, yet they remained more crude and dictator in the transmission of one government to another. That is not because the past is better, but because it was more capable through a series of estimations inherited by the countries that underwent one-family succession.
Therefore, we did not hear about assassinations of foes as happened with martial and factional countries. There were even parliaments, free justice, parties, and syndicates in some of monarchical governments, and they were not as rich as now. The reason behind that is that the composition of the country including its polls and designations were more flexible. However, countries of coups come as a result of concessions and deals based on sets of personal interests. Therefore, changes occur according to the principle of loyalty and giving.
In such cases, heredity countries cannot be void of mistakes and sometimes trespasses. Their stillness is due to being the best in terms of performance and administration. Perhaps the phenomenon of hereditary republican governments started in North Korea and Cuba, to be then copied in the Arab world and become a hypothesis. The strange thing about this phenomenon is that those who approached it and gave this right to their families were the first to ascribe the worst descriptions to the monarchical governments, and then pursued the same approach. We wish they were constitutional republics, or were to accept the transmission of power, but, however, what they did is that they burdened their peoples with unprecedented forms of oppression except for some forms related to old Arabic ages.
Cronies spread and writers were granted privileges equaling top officers in the military and the security. Buying writers, newspapers and other media that promotes the greatness of the revolutionary state has become a phenomenon. However, half of the past century changed its pursuance from total submission to the revolutionary state to the principle of rejection that came up with secret religious and factional organizations, which were not even the objective alternative, to cause the great explosion against who took lead the field without real and honest leadership. Thus, the street led the field as the last resolution to declare the voidance of military and hereditary states.
As people reached locked ways and continued to suffer and try to express in any way to send that message to their governments because of the difficulty of gathering and crowding, or arousing groups, the modern technology came in place of such gatherings, syndicates, and parties to form a public agreements that brought all spectrums of the together with the speed of communication. The estimations of the leaderships of such countries as those faced with street revolutions were unable to correctly interpret the social development, and the speed it took to impose resolutions that were not to be expected by any watcher of the developments of the Arabic life.
The important thing is that reform is no longer a governmental decision, but is a public willing. What happened all started from here to become a historical event.
