The wise stance
Published in Alriyadh on 18 - 08 - 2017

King Salman's instructions to host Qatari pilgrims confirm an unwavering Saudi stance towards the Qatari people as an indivisible part of the Gulf social system. The Qataris have no relation with their government's aimless policies throwing Qatar into an endless tunnel.
It was a wise reply by King Salman to Qatar's claim on politicizing the Hajj rituals and internationalizing the sacred shrines. Hajj rituals are in no way related to whatever politics. Hajj season is awaited by Muslims all over the world to respond to the divine call of the Holy Quran: "And proclaim unto mankind the pilgrimage. They will come unto thee on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every deep ravine". It is the season of generous giving, mercy and forgiveness. Our Prophet, peace be upon him, says: "Whoever performs Hajj and does not have sexual relations (with his wife), nor commits sin, nor disputes unjustly (during Hajj), then he returns from Hajj as pure and free from sins as on the day on which his mother gave birth to him." Therefore, it is a worship season for Muslims according to criteria and rules enabling them to perform their rituals easily, comfortably and peacefully.
The Kingdom does not differentiate between Muslims. Because the Kingdom is directly responsible for the Holy Shrines in Makkah and Madinah, it assumes full responsibility and carries out its duties devotedly. The royal instructions to host our Qatari brothers to perform their Hajj rituals are part of the care accorded to Muslims, particularly those visiting the holy shrines to perform Hajj. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques always takes care of the issues of the Muslim World who pays tributes to the Kingdom's role in defending Islam and Muslims. Although Qatar's government has adopted an inappropriate approach towards the Kingdom's with respect to Hajj season and the holy shrines, the Kingdom has disregarded Qatar's stance because it is illogical and is based on lies which can easily be discovered by any Muslim visiting the Kingdom and witnessing the exceptional care given to pilgrims.
The Saudi leadership is known for its wisdom. Any malicious attempts to deform the efforts exerted by the Kingdom in service of the Two Holy Mosques and the holy shrines will be an everlasting shame for those making such attempts.
