That Belle! Emma Watson sings classic Beauty And The Beast song in extended clip released by Disney
Published in Alriyadh on 21 - 02 - 2017

It's the opening number from the original movie, released back in 1991... for the most part.
Disney released nearly a full minute clip of Emma Watson singing the song Belle in the much-awaited Beauty and the Beast remake on Monday.
And while the adaptation featuring live actors follows the same story as the animated classic, the new version did take a few liberties with at least the portion of the lyrics shown
For starters, there's a gender flip when Watson, 26, first encounters the villagers.
In the animated cartoon, Belle hears that famous 'bonjour' greeting from mostly men, but in the live action version, it's a majority of ladies that do the talking first.
When asked what she's up to in the new release, Belle tells a man she's set out to return a book about 'two lovers in fair Verona' after she interacts with the person selling bread.
But in the original, the writers used that line to foreshadow the story a bit, with the animated Disney princess saying, 'I've just finished the most wonderful book today, about a beast and an ogre...' before she's cut off by a ruffled bread maker yelling at a character named Marie.
That's in addition to the fact that she tells the information to a completely different character, who gets the name Jean added to her greeting of 'Monsieur' in the revamp.
In the short time span of the live action film that's shown in this new clip, the brunette bookworm is also up to slightly different things than she is in the previous version.
The animated character wanders through the street and hops on the back of a wagon as her neighbors sing, 'Look, there she goes. That girl is strange, no question.'
And yet in the 2017 version, Watson's Belle prances past a schoolhouse and skips through a pond on stepping stones as she elicits the curiosity of those around her.
'No denying she's a funny girl, that Belle,' the villagers sing, in both versions.
With an additional 45 minutes of footage added to the story, only time will tell how many more comparisons can be drawn when 'that funny girl' is brought to life in full feature length.
The modernized Beauty and the Beast premieres in the US and the UK on March 17.
