The Saudi forces have been doing a great job in tracking down and eliminating terrorists. As recent instances have shown the terrorists had only two options when cornered: either surrender or kill themselves – thanks to the highly professional approach adopted by the security forces. The terrorist methodologies have evolved over time, and so have counterterrorism methods. The war against terror remains a rather intricate and unpredictable fight due to the volatile situation in the region and the support extended to the terrorists by the Kingdom's enemies. But this in no way has hindered the determination of the security forces. It is only a matter of time before terrorism is completely wiped out from Saudi Arabia. The Kingdom has been sounding the alarm bells against terrorism for years together. This was the case even before the superpowers took on the anti-terror mantle. It has been calling for peaceful solutions to political problems caused by forces of evil. Global anti-terror experts and organizations have lauded the Saudi forces for their successful fight against terrorists. The vast area of the Kingdom has not been a deterrent to this fight against terrorists, whether they operated in groups or as lone wolves. We are indeed proud of our security forces. But we must shoulder our own responsibilities to help fight the menace. We must collaborate with religious, educational and social institutions to prevent young people from going astray and picking up the gun to spread terror. These youngsters get swayed by deviant ideologies and fall victim to the nefarious designs of vested interests. They are turned into zombies, ready to blow themselves up. We salute our security forces for remaining faithful in their mission to eliminate evil elements from society, and call on every individual and institution to share the responsibility of preventing youth from adopting the wrong path.
