The security spokesperson at the Ministry of Interior announced that within the framework of operations security bodies carry out in detecting and monitoring the movements of terrorists, wanted individuals, and their hideouts, a successful example of which is the foiling, last Friday 22/ 7/ 1437 AH, of the imminent terrorist attack in Bieshah, now field and technical monitoring, and information verifications led to the identification of a terrorist cell hideout in the Region of Makkah, between Taif and the Sacred Capital. Thursday's morning, 28/7/1437AH (May 5, 2016), security forces took the terrorists by surprise and fully sieged their place. The terrorists opened fire at the security members who responded in kind to neutralize any dangers. The exchange resulted in the death of two terrorists while the other two killed themselves with their own explosive belts. Citizens, pedestrians, and security elements, praise be to Allah, received no harms. At the same time, another hideout the terrorists used as a base to administer their terrorist activities, was also raided in Jeddah province. two individuals were arrested there, and the determination of their relation to the terrorist cell and its members is still under investigation. The security spokesperson pointed out that this operation is still on-going, expert teams of explosives are working on cleaning up the two sites and are attending, at the first site, to explosive belts, grenades, and firearms.
