Pakistani Prime Minister Receives Shura Council Speaker

Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif met here yesterday with Speaker of Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh and the accompanying delegation, currently on an official visit to Pakistan at an invitation of the Speaker of Pakistan's national assembly (parliament) Sirdar Iyaz Sadeq.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, stressing that the special common lines between Islamabad and Riyadh have always pushed them to make great strides towards more convergence.
Sharif paid tribute to the efforts being exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to unite the ranks of Muslims and resolve the problems obstructing peace in the region, confirming that his country's participation in the Islamic Coalition to Combat Terrorism emanates from his country's belief in the international partnership in fighting the epidemic.
Our participation is once again to confirm our confidence in the leadership of the Kingdom to unite the Islamic ranks against extremism and terror, he stated.
For his part, Al Al-Sheikh thanked Sharif for warm reception and generous hospitality, noting that he was conveying the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the leadership of Pakistan, wishing them every progress and prosperity.
He added that the visit comes within the keenness of the Kingdom to strengthen relations with Pakistan and develop it in what serves the interests of the two countries and peoples.
He cast light on the rich history of relations between Riyadh and Islamabad.
He shed light on the Kingdom's support for Arab and Islamic issues, citing its historic position in support for the legitimacy in Yemen starting with the Determination Storm and coming to the Restoration of Hope.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Abdullah Alzahrani, and Al Al-Shiekh's accompanying delegation as well as Pakistani officials.
