Under the patronage of Prime Minister of Arab Republic of Egypt, Engineer Sherif Ismail, the General Union of Arab producers honored last night the Saudi Press Agency (SPA); Radio and Television Commission; Audio-Visual Media Commission; media institutions and newspapers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their contribution to enhancing the Egyptian-Saudi relations and strengthening their ties, reflecting the depth of the fraternal ties between the two brotherly countries, in addition to their efforts at local, regional and global levels in the service of Arab and Islamic issues. This came during a reception held by the General Union of Arab producers in the Egyptian capital under the motto "Thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" in the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Culture Dr. Helmi Al-Namnam who represented the Egyptian Prime Minister; the President of the Saudi Press Agency Commission Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein; and a number of Arab media personnel and intellectuals. At the beginning of the reception, the audience watched a movie on the strength and depth of relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt in various fields. Then, the Egyptian Minister of Culture Dr Helmi Al-Namnam delivered a speech in which he stressed the depth of historical relations between the two countries in all fields, expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; government and people for their positions in favor of Egypt and its people. He said: 'We meet today to celebrate together the Kingdom in an important moment in the history of the Arab nation in spite of all what is happening in Syria, Libya, Iraq and Palestine of terrorist acts threatening its unity and peoples by displacement', describing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt as a rock upon which ambitions of all evils have been crashed. He also commended the Kingdom's efforts in supporting Egypt in all fields since the reign of late King Abdulaziz until the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. Following that, speakers working in the media and art domains delivered speeches in which they confirmed that this occasion reflect a part of the strong relations between the Kingdom and Egypt, Government and people. They expressed their appreciation and gratitude for all what has been provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab and Islamic countries of support in all areas, mentioning the historic positions of the Kingdom to maintain the unity of Arab and Islamic nations. Then, Dr Helmi handed over an honorary shield to President Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein for the Saudi Press Agency. The Egyptian Minister of Culture also presented honorary shields to Saudi media agencies and organizations as well as to Saudi newspapers. He also honored a number of Saudi and Egyptian media and cultural figures. Following that, the President of the Saudi Press Agency, Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein has expressed appreciation to the Union of Arab producers for honoring him. He said in a press statement: 'Media of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the brother of the Egyptian media, and we are checking the accuracy of our news since we are all partners in the media business in all areas.' He also described this honor as a confirmation of the strength of the brotherly relations between the two governments and the two brotherly peoples since the reign of late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud until the current era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. On the relations between Saudi and Egyptian media, the President of Saudi Press Agency highlighted the correlation and cooperation whether between the Saudi Press Agency and the Middle East News Agency, or between newspapers and television channels in the two countries, confirming everyone's keenness to continue this march for the interest of the two countries and the Arab and Islamic worlds. For his part, the President of the General Union of Arab producers Dr. Ibrahim Abu Zekri said that the Egyptian-Saudi relations do not stop at the common interests, but also dates back to unique links through history, where those relationships began since the reign of late King Abdulaziz Al Saud until the prosperous era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He stressed that the noble and honorable positions of the Kingdom's leadership towards its sisterly Egypt during the conditions experienced by it are highly appreciated, and that the celebration entitled 'Thanks to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,' is a true expression of what the Egyptian people feel for their brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
