GCC Interior Ministers Hold 34th Meeting in Doha

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, conveyed greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to the interior ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Member States and his wishes for them all success in their meeting.
This came in a speech delivered by the Crown Prince on the occasion of convening the 34th consultative meeting in Doha under chairmanship of Qatari Prime Minister and Interior Ministers Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, led the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's delegation to the meeting.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif extended thanks to and appreciation of Qatari Emir Sheikh Tammim bin Hamad Al Thani for the warm hospitality, thanking Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani for a good preparation of this meeting.
The Crown Prince stressed that this meeting is held in light of international security developments and situations requiring to exert more serious and effective international cooperation in combating terrorism and addressing firmly the reasons, supporters and financiers of its activities.
He added the terrorism is a crime threatening the entire humanitarian community which requires cooperation of all sides and all concerted efforts, stressing not to use the identity of those responsible in the terrorist acts in the abuse of belief, race or nation.
'On this occasion, we emphasize our countries and peoples' condemnation to the terrorist acts that taken place in Tunisia, France and Mali. We express full solidarity with all countries facing a threat of terrorism and we will continue efforts of joint coordination and cooperation among the security authorities in combating terrorism,' the Crown Prince added.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Mohammed wished all success for the participants in the meeting.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, and the GCC interior ministers attended agreement's signing ceremony of establishment of GCC police headquarters.
The agreement is signed by, on behalf of the United Arab Emirates (state of headquarters), UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Said bin Zaid bin Sultan Al Nahyan and GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani.
The GCC interior ministers also attended a signing ceremony of memorandum of understanding between Police College in Qatar and the GCC Secretariat General.
Then, the GCC interior ministers honored former members of the authority of Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Award for the security researches.
The GCC interior ministers held a closed meeting before the opening session of the 34th GCC meeting.
The meeting was attended by the official delegation accompanying the Crown Prince, including Dr. Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Salem, Undersecretary of the Interior Ministry; Dr. Said Al-Arabi Al-Harthi, advisor to the Minister of Interior and a number of officials.
