Majlis Al-Shura Deputy Speaker, Dr. Mohammed bin Amin Al-Jafri has confirmed that the decision taken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the supreme commander of all military forces on the launch of Determination Storm operation with the participation of Arab and Islamic countries, came in response to a request submitted by legitimate President of the Republic of Yemen Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, for the relief of the Yemeni people from the oppression and tyranny of the Houthi militias which toppled the legitimacy and kidnapped the State's institutions. This came during a meeting held here yesterday between Dr. Al-Jafri and a delegation of aides and adviser members of the US Congress. On the sidelines of the reception, Majlis Al-Shura Deputy Speaker considered the decision of Determination Storm operation as a wise and right decision taken by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques amid participation of Saudi troops and troops of ten Arab and Muslim countries with wide international support, stressing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's keenness to protect the Yemeni people, support their security, unity and territorial integrity under the legitimate leadership. During the reception, the Deputy Speaker of Majlis Al-Shura has commended the distinguished relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America in various fields, especially parliamentary relations between Saudi Majlis Al-Shura and the US Congress. A dialogue exchanged during the reception between Dr. Al-Jafri and the visiting delegation's members, focused on Majlis Al-Shura's duties and its legislative and supervisory role being played by the Council and its specialized committees . The meeting was attended by Chairman of Saudi-US Parliamentary Friendship Committee of Majlis Al-Shura, Dr. Khalid Al-Awad. On the other hand, the Saudi-US Parliamentary Friendship Committee held a meeting under its Chairman, Dr. Al-Awad, with the US Congress delegation currently on a visit to the Kingdom. During the meeting, they reviewed a number of issues of common interest between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America, in addition to the regional developments being witnessed by region and the Kingdom's efforts in the fight against terrorism.
