Finals set for YACA Jotun Cup

YANBU — Lineups for finals in the Division-I 40-over, Div. A 20-over and Div. B 20-over have been decided following thrilling semifinals in the TACA Jotun Cup tournament here recently.
Division-I 40-over
In the first semifinal Pak Crescent A thrashed Cristal by 80 runs. Put into bat, Pak Crescent A scored 266 for the loss of 6 wickets. Zahid 65 and Sarfaraz 64 were the main scorers. Fazal picked up 3 wickets. In reply, Cristal was all out in 31.4 overs for 186. Ahmedullah 90 and Shoaib 39 were the main scorers. Naseem took 6 wickets and was judged the Man-of-the-Match.
In the second semi Saudi-XI beat Kabbani-XI by 21 runs. Electing to bat first, Saudi-XI was bundled out for 154. Khalid claimed 5 wickets for 35, while Safdar bagged 3-15. Ali Cheema and Abdul Qadir scored 32 and 22, respectively. In reply, Kabbani-XI was all out in 35.3 overs for 133 despite a half century by Ehsan. Abid (28 runs) was the other main scorer. Sajjad claimed 3-29, while Man-of-the-Match Abbas Nadwi bagged 3-17.
Division A 20-over
In the first semifinal, Indo Riders beat Man Health Club by 28 runs. Batting first, Indo Riders scored 133 for 6. Shyjal hit 46, while Jassam added 26. Naveed claimed 2 wickets. In reply, Man Health Club could score only 105-6. Imtiaz (24) was the main scorer, while Man-of-the-Match Jassam claimed 3 wickets.
The second semifinal saw Cristal-XI beat Jotun-XI by 9 runs. Opting to bat first, Cristal was all out for 141 in 20 overs. Moiz hit 26, while Shoib and Yasir added 20 each.
Liaqat and Iftikhar bagged 2 wickets each. In reply, Jotun could score only 132-7. Shahid 22, Bhatti 21 and Ataullah 23 were the main scorers. Naqeeb and Yasir claimed 2 wickets each. Yaisr was judged the Man-of-the-Match.
Division B 20-over
GT Warriors thumped Almuzain by 7 wickets in the first semifinal. Batting first, Almuzain scored 156-6. Ashraf scored 48, while Zaheer added 58. Shiyam bagged 2 wickets. In reply, GT Warriors scored the required runs in 16.2 overs for the loss of three wickets. Man-of-the-Match Shiyab 56, Nawaz 38 and Anwar 35 were among the runs. Qaiser claimed 2 wickets.
The second semifinal saw Pak Crescent B beat Kashmir-XI by 38 runs. Pak Crescent B put on 138-5. Asif scored 26, while Rasheed added 36. Hamid claimed 2 wickets. In reply, Kashmir-XI was all out in 18.4 overs for 100. Nasir hit 34, while Asif claimed 3 wickets.
Jotun Site Manager Khalid Khan later announced that the finals would be played on June 28, when top performers can pick up a number of prizes.
