Stage set for semis in Jotun Cup

YANBU — The stage is set for semifinals in the Jotun Cup Cricket Tournament, organized by Yanbu Cricket Association (YACA) here recently.
In a Division-I 40-over match, Cristal elected to bat against Shah-XI. It recorded 258-9 in a match reduced to 37 overs. Ahmedullah (69), Farasat (45), and Moiz (50) were the main scorers. Tariq took 4-32, while Iftikhar and Sami took two wickets each.
In reply, Shah-XI was bundled out for 103 in 19.4 overs. Only Iftikhar resisted to score 44. Fazal and Ahmedullah took three wickets each. Ahmedullah was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match.
In the second match, Kabbani-XI elected to bat against Pak Crescent A and scored 276 through Ehsan (46), Mudassir (71) and Ejaz (49). Jahn Zaib took 3 wickets, while Waseem claimed 2.
In reply, Pak Crescent A scored the required runs in 39.3 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Ali Shan (65) and the Man-of-the-Match Sarfaraz (114) were the main scorers. Mudassir took 2 wickets.
In the third match, Shah-XI elected to bat against Saudi-XI. It was all out for 241 in 33 overs. Saeed scored 88. Dr. Aamir took 4 wickets, while Arsalan claimed 3.
In reply, Saudi XI scored the required runs in 32.1 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Abbas (40), Arsalan (57) and Junaid (65) were the main scorers. Saeed took two wickets. Arsalan was named the Man-of-the-Match.
The league matches are over now and the semifinal lineup is: Pak Crescent A vs. Cristal-XI and Saudi-XI vs. Kabbani-XI.
In the first tied match of the 20-over tournament here, Cristal-XI elected to bat first against Indo Riders-XI and made 121-5. Moiz (23) and Naseem (29) were the main scorers. Abid and Thayoob took one wicket each.
In reply, Indo Riders also scored 121 but lost 8 wickets. Samiyullah (18), Faizal Raja (28) and Abid (19) runs were the main scorers. Farasat and Ahmedullah took two wickets each. Abid Hussain was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match.
In the second match, Man Health Club elected to bat against Jotun-XI. Nayyar and Muneeb took the score to 115 in 18.2 overs. Tanveer took 3 wickets, while Liaqat and Irfan claimed two each.
In reply, Jotun-XI scored the required runs in 16.3 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Man-of-the-Match Akbar scored 69. Imtiaz and Imran took two wickets each.
In the third match, Man Health Club, which opted to field first, bowled out Kabbani-XI for 125 in the allotted 20 overs. Shahzad and Amjad scored 26 and 22, respectively. Imran, Mujahid, Hafiz and Naveed took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Man Health Club scored the required runs in 17 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. Man-of-the-Match Rasheed Noor scored 62. Ehsan took 2 wickets.
The semifinal lineup is: GT Warriors vs. Almuzain-XI and Pak Crescent B-XI vs. Kashmir-XI.
