Male winners (L-R) Jimmy Aragones, Mac Galang, Melvin Lising and Rene PunzalanPip R. PlanasJEDDAH — Jimmy Aragones and Malou Nidoy vastly fortified the two-game finals with their superlative initial scores to sideline Mac Galang and Malou Gime and clinch the July 2012 championships of the Filipino Expatriate Damayan Bowling Group at the Bowling City here. Aragones reached the overall championship when he eliminated Jay Bengco, Ferdie Coloma and Edward Botardo on the playoff and cleanly defeated Class C top-qualifier Danny Manriza at 448-321 two-game settlement. Consitent with his intensity, Aragones chained strikes to nerve the class/group champions Melvin Lising (OA), Rene Punzalan (B) and Galang (D) with a 243. Lising, Punzalan and Galang advanced to finals via washing out Faisal Relativo, Robert Stone and Nards Hassan on class/group superiority battles. On the second and last game of the 4-bowler race finals, Lising jerked Aragones with perfectly executed high precision blows resulting in a 214 blitz. Likewise, closest rival Galang sustained contention with his spectacular spare conversions to capitalize his handicap at 204. Such notable moves alarmed Aragones to entrench his post with another string of strikes to drape off challenges with 224 which crowned the famously known as “Lover boy" of the July men's champion with 2-game series of 467. Galang settled first runner-up with 424, while Lising (409) and Punzalan (348) embraced third and fourth spots respectively. In the women's division, Nidoy's trek to eminence was a bit easier as, though opposed by similarly skillful players, she got seeded to finals by topping group AB with 4-game handicapped series of 760 along with arch-rival Gime who bested CD with 776 and play with group survivors Ester Santoc (AB) and Eloisa Fernandez (CD). Santoc eliminated Alona Antinero, Lourdes Punzalan and Minda Guevara, while Fernandez outlasted Evelyn Santoc, Christine Esperancilla and grace Funtilon. On the 2-game, 4-bowler race finals, Nidoy commanded 208 to take a two-mark advantaged over the nearest contender and May titlist Gime who has 192. With no vigorous move from Santoc and Fernandez, Nidoy kept trading marks with Gime till she edged the latter at 183-178 to finally take the FEDBG women's championship for July on 2-game series of 391. Gime embraced second place with 370, Fernandez took third and Santoc settled fourth. Other lady aspirants were Sally Sa?osa, Maricar Victorino, Shirley Sagmit, Letty Mendoza and Mariz Resano.
