Saudi Press: Saudi Arabia Plans to Lead All Energy Sectors
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 11 - 04 - 2021

Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas.
Al-Riyadh newspaper reported in its editorial that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is one of the world countries that focused on the production of renewable energy, in order to be pioneering in renewable energy production, alongside being one of the largest oil-producing countries.
Today, Saudi Arabia realizes many of its ambitions and aspirations, including being a major source and leaders of all sectors of energy production. This ambition was embodied in the speech of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, on the occasion of the launch of the Sakaka IPP PV, the signing of PPA's for seven new projects and the near completion of Dumat Al-Jandal wind energy project, as this means that the Kingdom has taken the path of producing renewable with projects capable of growth, qualifying it to be a producer and exporter country of both renewable energy and oil, the newspaper further added.
The output capacity of these projects will amount to more than 3,600 MW. They will also power more than 600 thousand households and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 7 million tons, as this is a goal sought by Saudi Arabia.
In this regard, the newspaper pointed to the 'Saudi Green' and 'Middle East Green' initiatives that embody the Kingdom's keenness to protect the planet, the newspaper concluded.
In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper reported in its editorial that the difficult circumstances caused by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, were nothing but another challenge that joins the series of challenges that Saudi Arabia confronted. Nevertheless, the Kingdom was able to move forward in providing comprehensive care to worshippers and visitors of the Grand Holy Mosque and the Prophet's Holy Mosque, in a manner that guarantees their comfort and safety.
The newspaper added that the approval of the general security plan in Makkah and Madinah, during Ramadan for this year, by Prince Abdul Aziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Hajj Supreme Committee, in accordance with the precautionary and preventive measures, comes as an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts aiming to preserve the security and safety of the visitors of the Two Holy Mosques.
This plan also represents Saudi Arabia's sustained efforts that are exerted in order to overcome different challenges. Moreover, Saudi Arabia's experiences are distinguished models of crisis management.
