Minister of Finance Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan said that Saudi Arabia takes over the presidency of the Group of Twenty at a time when the world faces difficult challenges, such as geopolitical issues and technological turmoil, climate change and fluctuation in external debt, and at the same time, the world is growing more interconnected, while a country faces a challenge, its crises may spread to other countries. Speaking at the World Economic Forum during a session dealing with the Saudi presidency of the Group of Twenty, he also said that this global scene necessitates consensus in order to find solutions to global crises and to take advantage of the opportunities that the world abounds in. He pointed out that the plan was based on three main goals, namely empowering people, preserving the environment and the planet, and shaping new horizons by taking advantage of technology to serve the peoples of the world.
