Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of issues at local, regional and international arenas. Al-Riyadh newspaper said in its editorial that every Hajj season, the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud announces initiatives, projects and plans for improving the holy sites and enhancing services being provided for pilgrims to be at highest best levels. The paper noted that the advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of Makkah Region, Chairman of Central Hajj Committee, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, announced during a press conference held yesterday, the start to transforming Makkah into a smart city that meets the needs of pilgrims. The paper added that this unprecedented step will coincide with an announcement of a package of new projects that fall within the goals of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. In another context, Al-Yaum newspaper said in its editorial that the current times are witnessing the movement of Muslims through civilian airports heading for Makkah to perform Hajj rituals. The paper added that Iran-backed-Houthi Terrorist Militias launched more drones towards civil airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in a blatant violation of the sanctity of time and place, but they have been intercepted and downed yesterday morning.
