The second meeting of the Trade Facilitation Committee, within the framework of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area (GAFTA), chaired by Bahrain and attended by representatives of Arab trade and industry ministers, started here today. The meeting was set to discuss over three days, a number of topics related to facilitating trade, including discussion of the first draft of an annex to the legal facilitation of trade within the framework of the Arab Free Trade Area. The special legal annex is to contain a number of articles reflecting the will of the Arab states to strengthen economic cooperation, liberalize and expand intra-Arab trade, by accelerating the movement, release and clearance of goods, including transit ones.
