Economic activity in the eurozone ended 2016 at a five-and-half year high, according to a key indicator, dpa reported. The London-based research group IHS Markit says its Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for the eurozone's manufacturing and service sectors rose to 54.4 points in December from a reading of 53.9 points in November. "The end of 2016 saw the eurozone economy maintain a robust pace of expansion," says IHS Markit chief business economist Chris Williamson.
