Gunman in a passing vehicle fired repeatedly at an Atlanta-area police officer on routine patrol before being arrested after a short car chase, Roswell, Georgia police said early Friday, adding that nobody was wounded by the gunshots. The shooting incident happed shortly before 1:00 a.m. local time Friday, a few hours after snipers mounted a coordinated attack that killed five Dallas, Texas police officers during a protest against the killings of two African-American men by police this week. The suspect in the Atlanta shooting was being questioned by detectives Friday morning. Police do not know of a possible motive, nor do they know whether the shooting was related to rising tensions amid the recent police shootings of African-American men, Roswell police Detective Zachary Frommer said.
