French President Emmanuel Macron received earlier Friday his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi at the Elysee to hold talks revolving around a number of bilateral and global matters. Ahead of the meeting, France24 reported that the Russian-Ukrainian War will feature heavily in the talks as well as issues stemming from the conflict including the energy and food crises, noting that Egypt is one of the countries most affected by these crises. The talks will also cover the regional concerns on Syria, Iran, and Libya, in addition to the manner of peace regarding the Palestinian and Israeli continued escalation of conflict, with France ready to mediate, as Macron has offered to revitalize talks directly with Israeli leadership. This visit was announced by authorities at the Elysee Palace only on Thursday, during a brief statement without additional details.
