RIYADH — The Ministry of Health on Tuesday recorded 751 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight decrease in daily infections. The new cases in the Kingdom remained below 800 for two consecutive days, with 796 and 731 infections recorded on Monday and Sunday respectively, and it fell below that mark on Wednesday with 751 after hitting 864 on Tuesday. According to a statement from the ministry, 9 more people died due to complications caused by the virus over the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 535,927 and the virus-related fatalities to 8,366. According to the ministry, a total of 1,389 people recovered over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 517,379. The Makkah region reported the highest number of new cases with 147, followed by the Eastern region with 111, the Riyadh region with 107, and the Asir region with 86 infections. The remaining cases were detected in other regions of the Kingdom with just none of them reporting less than 10 infections. According to the ministry, there were 10,182 active cases and 1,407 of them were in critical condition.
