JEDDAH — Saudi ministers have underlined the importance of the visit of Oman's Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, stressing the trip reflects the depth of historic relations between the two countries. They also highlighted the enhanced levels of bilateral coordination in various areas of common interest and the keenness on both sides to take it to a new level to serve the interests of the two countries and people. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Bin Abdullah said that the visit is of great importance as it is the first official trip of Oman's sultan outside the sultanate that demonstrates the depth of his appreciation for the Kingdom, its leadership and people. Prince Faisal explained that the historic relations between the two countries have always been based on mutual respect, which seeks to serve common interests and forge constructive cooperation in addressing Arab and Islamic issues and dealing with regional and international issues in order to secure global peace and security. He referred to the level of progress and growth in economic and trade relations between the two countries, stressing the desire of the Saudi and Omani sides to enhance and frame economic cooperation and set up mechanisms for its implementation. Commenting on the Sultan Haitham's visit, Saudi Deputy Defense Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman Prince Khalid said on Twitter that the visit of the Sultan of Oman to the Kingdom and his meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques establishes a new milestone in the historic and deep-rooted Saudi-Omani relationship, which will deepen cooperation and create prosperity for both countries. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir said that the visit of the Sultan of Oman to the Kingdom as his first foreign trip confirms the solid relations between the two countries, and we have a promising future in partnership and cooperation for the development of both countries.
