Texel Air to host webinar on ‘Innovation in Aviation and Logistics
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 16 - 11 - 2020

Texel Air, an established private airline and MRO based in the kingdom of Bahrain, is gearing up to host an interactive and high level webinar on Nov. 18, 2020, under the patronage of Eng. Kamal Bin Ahmed Mohammed, minister of transportation and telecommunications of Bahrain, highlighting "Innovation in Aviation and Logistics".
The virtual event will be a unique chance to hear from senior industry leaders from the private sector and relevant government organizations in the kingdom related to managing and promoting the growth of this key industry. The webinar will cover an exciting panel discussion featuring participation from: George Chisholm, chief executive officer, Chisholm Enterprises, Mike Andrews, director of conversion/sales, PEMCO Conversions, Desmond Vertannes, chairman, e-Cargoware, Ali Al Mudaifa, director-head of manufacturing, transport & logistics business development, Bahrain Economic Development Board. The session will be moderated by Miguel Amengual, senior manager, Seabury Consulting at Seabury Consulting/Accenture.
The distinguished panel will look at important trends shaping the industry today. This will include discussions on the evolving needs of global cargo charter customers and the new types of solutions they require to achieve greater flexibility, efficiency and cost effectiveness. Among the latest innovations, which will feature in discussions, is the launch in August 2020 of Texel Air's new Boeing 737-700 FlexCombi, a first of a kind conversion aircraft globally that was developed to provide the most versatile third party cargo charter solution available in the market today.
Additionally, the session will focus on the kinds of environments conducive to innovation in the industry and more specifically the multitude of key competitive advantages Bahrain provides for industry players of all sizes including its strategic location as a base for tapping and serving global markets.
Commenting, Chisholm, CEO for Texel Air's parent company Chisholm Enterprises, said, "We're looking forward to hosting this exciting panel of seasoned industry executives to talk about the importance of flexibility and adaptability in the aviation industry. This is especially timely given the additional challenges introduced by the COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting disruptions, which have made innovation, flexibility and adaptability even more critical to the expansion of the industry itself and to success and growth of its customers.
"Our panelists and partners from the private and public sector will look directly at the where and how we are seeing innovation, Texel's Air's pioneering role with the recent launch of our FlexCombi, and how we and our partners and peers can work to further meet the evolving needs of our customers."
He continued, "Importantly, our experts will also showcase Bahrain as an example of the kind of ecosystem and infrastructure required to foster innovation. Texel Air itself has been a great beneficiary of the advantages Bahrain has and the vast incentives and support it offers to the aviation industry, which it has prioritized in its Vision 2030 as a high-potential sector and one that it is committed to further building its market leadership in the coming years." —SG
