KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Thursday recorded a staggering 900 new coronavirus over the past 24 hours, prompting the country's Health Minister Dr. Basel Al-Sabah to express concerns over the growing number of daily injections. The minister called on people to observe anti-virus precautions, warning of a return to stringent coronavirus measures. "Let's cooperate to reduce infections by abiding by health conditions to maintain openness without need to be back to square one," he said on his Twitter account on Thursday. With the detection of the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections in the country rises to 87,378, according to the health ministry's spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad. The spokesman said that that there are 90 patients receiving necessary treatment in intensive care units. Earlier in the day, the health ministry said that 582 more patients have recovered from the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 78,791.
