MUSCAT — A man in Oman has been arrested for allegedly duping 56 girls in the Sultanate, according to local media reports on Monday. The accused, posing as the head of the recruitment department at an airline, lured young girls on social media platforms with marriage proposals and job offers, according to a report quoting Royal Oman Police. "The man had created a fake account on a social media platform and would solicit his victims by requesting for the CV and personal photos. After luring them into sending pictures, he would then blackmail them. Legal procedures against him are being completed," Times of Oman reported citing a statement from the Omani police. The Omani police urged the public to be cautious while dealing with anonymous persons and fake online accounts. The police also called for using official channels to apply for jobs, and be on alert against enticements manipulated by fraudsters to trap their victims.
