JEDDAH — The Pace Excel Gavel Club, under the Pace Toastmasters Club, Jeddah, emerged the winner at the YLP Showcase at the Saudi Arabian Toastmasters Annual Conference SATAC 2020, which was held on virtual platform Zoom. The gavel club had the privilege of winning the championship for the fourth year in a row owing to four continuous wins by the club's star performer Gavelier Pritpal Kaur, who emerged winner through her scintillating speech delivery for yet another year. She started her public speaking journey since 2016 and qualified for the YLP Showcase every year and won at SATAC 2017 in Riyadh, SATAC 2018 -Jeddah, SATAC 2019-Abha and SATAC 2020-Taif which was actually held on Zoom due to prevailing circumstances amidst COVID19 pandemic. While Gav. Pritpal Kaur secured the first place, second place was won by Gav. Huda Shamshad of Paramount Gavel Club and third place secured by Gav. Husna Talib of IISJ-Girls Gavel Club. Other finalist were Gav. Sheron Pushpavilasam and Gav. Nourah Ehab. The Youth Leadership Program -YLP Showcase is held on yearly basis as part of Saudi Arabian Toastmaster Annual Conference – SATAC to encourage youngsters to develop essential skills of public speaking and leadership. Gaveliers compete at club level and the first place winner of international speech segment is selected to compete at the SATAC. SATAC 2020 online was arranged under the leadership of District 104 director DTM Abdullah Filimban, Division H director DTM Basheer Ambalavan, Program Quality Director Mohd. Kunhi, other leaders and YLP Chair DTM Aqeel Jamil Khan. TM Omar Aqeel Khan was the Master of Ceremony. Role of Technical support was handled by DTM Ashraf Abubucker and Chief Arms by TM Khadija Ashraf. District leader DTM Joey Villneuva delivered an inspirational message for the youngsters. Keynote speech was given by DTM Abdullah Filimban. Gaveliers of Pace Gavel Club are being trained by club coordinator Toastmaster Surendrapal Singh since 2019. He has been co coordinating with TM Jimmichan Chacko since 2017.
