Tyler Toffoli scored two late goals en route to a hat trick as the last place Los Angeles Kings upset the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 in an outdoor contest in front of 43,500 spectators on Saturday. Toffoli scored two goals in the final 55 seconds and goaltender Jonathan Quick stopped 32 shots for the Kings who won back to back games for the first time in eight weeks and recorded just their 21st win of the season. Anze Kopitar and Alex Iafallo had two assists each. Saturday was the 30th outdoor game in NHL history and it was played in front of a massive crowd at Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The temperature at puck drop was zero degrees Celsius (32F), and it dropped throughout the game, making for perfect playing conditions. With overtime looming, Toffoli's snap shot with 55 seconds left broke a 1-1 tie, and he added his 18th goal of the season into an empty net with five seconds left. Colorado goalie Philipp Grubauer made 14 saves before leaving after he was hit in the head by teammate Ian Cole as the defenseman was checking Los Angeles forward Austin Wagner. Grubauer skated off and was replaced by Pavel Francouz at 2:33 of the third with the game tied 1-1. — AF{
