Makkah — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman issued on Wednesday a royal order to restore all allowances, bonuses and financial benefits for civil workers with retrospective effect. "This order shall be effective from the date of the Cabinet's decision dated 25/12/1437 Hijri (Sept. 26, 2016)," the royal order said. This is meant to ease the life of Saudi citizens and provide a decent life to them, the royal order said. On April 22, King Salman issued a royal decree to restore financial allowances for civil servants and military personnel that had been cut under austerity measures. In September Saudi Arabia cut ministers' salaries by 20 percent and scaled back financial perks for public sector employees.
