Alex Ovechkin recorded his 30th goal of the season and Daniel Winnik scored two goals, including the game-winner late in the third period, as the Washington Capitals overcame listless stretches to beat the lowly Arizona Coyotes 4-1 Saturday night. Ovechkin became the third player in league history to score 30-plus goals in each of his first 12 seasons, joining Mike Gartner (15) and Wayne Gretzky (13). Winnik scored with 4:39 remaining, Justin Williams added another goal not long after and Winnik sealed the Capitals' fourth consecutive victory with an empty-netter. Braden Holtby made 28 saves for Washington, which has won five of six to reach an NHL-leading 106 points and keep pace atop the competitive Metropolitan Division. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Flames and ended a four-game winning streak for St. Louis. Calgary tied it 2-2 on the first goal of the season by Matt Bartkowski, whose shot on a delayed penalty deflected off the skate of the Blues' Jay Bouwmeester and into the net at 10:53 of the third period. Canadiens 3, Senators 1: Andrei Markov scored two goals to lift the Montreal Canadiens to a 3-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night at the Bell Centre. Shea Weber also scored for Montreal, which moved three points ahead of Ottawa atop the Atlantic Division. Carey Price made 31 saves for the Canadiens. Bruins 2, Islanders 1: Riley Nash scored both goals as Boston moved into sole possession of the second wild card in the Eastern Conference by snapping a four-game losing streak. The Bruins broke a tie with New York for the final wild card, but the Islanders have a game in hand on Boston. Anton Khudobin, playing in place of injured starter Tuukka Rask, recorded 18 saves. Panthers 7, Blackhawks 0: Jonathan Marchessault scored a natural hat trick as Florida routed Chicago. Marchessault, who scored twice in his previous game, has a team-high 28 goals this season. James Reimer (25 saves) pickedup his first shutout of the season. Predators 7, Sharks 2: Colton Sissons and James Neal each scored twice as Nashville won for the sixth time in last seven games. Cody McLeod, P.K. Subban and Viktor Arvidsson also scored for the Predators, who moved one point ahead of St. Louis for third place in the Central Division. Pekka Rinne, who was honored prior to the game for playing his 500th NHL contest last week, stopped 26 shots for his fifth straight victory.
