A tour bus rolled out for the first time in the Kingdom from Raghdan Park here on Saturday. Baha Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage director general said the launching of the bus service forms part of the activities at the 37th Baha Annual Festival. "The bus is operated by an international company which has provided its services to more than 100 locations worldwide in more than 35 different countries across the five continents. Baha is one of these locations," he said. The bus, he said, gives tour of the important places and artifacts in Baha. It also has a tour guide to guide the passengers through the journey. "The tour guide is well-informed on the history and heritage of Baha city. He gives the passengers the most important information about Baha as they sit and enjoy the tour. The bus is monitored electronically to ensure that it adheres to its scheduled timings and does not cause any delays," said the director general. "The bus has three external plasma screens showing the stops the bus is taking so people passing by know at what stage of the tour the bus is in. The bus is two-tier, the first level is enclosed while the second is divided into two," he informed. The second floor is divided into an enclosed and ventilated area and an open area where passengers can enjoy fresh air and natural view. "There is a host inside the bus for welcoming the passengers, selling tickets and answering all inquiries. The driver of the bus has a surveillance camera screen giving him a view of different areas of the bus. The driver does not have to leave his seat to ensure that all passengers are seated before he drives off," said the director general. He also said the bus posts the next station it is headed toward on the front of the bus and is decorated with posters promoting national sites on its exterior.
