Japanese stocks jumped 1.7 per cent Wednesday as other Asian markets climbed and as investors hoped European leaders would manage to address the eurozone debt crisis at meetings this week. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 1.71 per cent, or 147.01 points, to close at 8,722.17 while the broader Topix index was up 1.57 per cent, or 11.62 points, at 749.63, according to a report of DPA.
