AlHijjah 11, 1432, Nov 7, 2011, SPA -- A ferry has sunk in international waters off the coast of Aqaba and landed at a depth of 750 meters below the surface of the sea. The vessel Pella, has sunk Monday morning days after it caught fire in one of its storage chambers at a distance of 10 nautical miles from the coast of Aqaba near the Egyptian port of Nuweiba. One passenger died after jumping into the water in an attempt to escape the fire, while 1,229 passengers have been evacuated from Pella, which was on a routine sail between Aqaba and Nuweiba, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.
