About 50 people were detained Saturday during a protest at a nuclear plant in western Finland, dpa quoted police as saying. The protest was staged at the Olkiluoto plant where two of the country's four reactors are located. A fifth reactor is being built at the site, but has suffered delays. Several groups took part in the protest that began early Saturday when blockades were set up on nearby access roads, public broadcaster YLE reported. Police and emergency services have since removed the road blocks, according to YLE. A similar protest was staged a year ago at the plant. Finland's nuclear power plants supply around a quarter of the country's energy. A year ago, parliament approved the construction of two more reactors but the locations have not been determined.
