World-leading mobile phone maker Nokia Corp. says its net earnings fell 21 percent in the fourth quarter, according to AP. CEO Stephen Elop says Nokia «faces some significant challenges in our competitiveness.» Net profit was ¤745 million ($1.02 billion), down from a profit of ¤950 million in the fourth quarter of 2009. Sales were ¤12.6 billion ($17.2 billion), up 6 percent on the same period in 2009. Nokia said its estimated market share shrunk to 31 percent in the quarter, down from 35 percent a year earlier.
