The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent today a cable to his brothers, their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)'s countries currently meeting in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Following is the cable's text: Your Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC, God Almighty saves them. Peace, God's mercy and blessings be upon you. While you are gathering today to do what is good, God willing, for the countries and peoples of the Gulf region, I feel that I have missed the noblest meeting and greatest trust bestowed upon me by our peoples. However, that trust is embodied in front of me deriving its responsibility from our religion and the interests of our Arab and Islamic nation. Dear Brothers: Although we all look forward to achieve the objectives and goals of our peoples, a medical indisposition has forced me to be absent from this meeting. However, my spirit actually shares you the hopes and goals of our historical responsibilities, wishing that God Almighty would grant you success in your endeavor, and assist you with His Own Help. My sincere appreciation goes to all of you, thanking you for your good feelings which relieved a lot of my health malaise.
