An Abuja court on Friday jailed 30-year-old Nigerian kidney patient Ogoke Chidinma to five years imprisonment for attempting to export 40 kilogrammes of cocaine to Spain, reported the dpa. Chidinma pleaded guilty to a one-count charge preferred against her by Nigeria's anti-drug agency, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. The convict was taken to the court room in a critical state and a swollen body. Moved with pity, Justice Anwuri Chikere gave the convict the option to pay a 3,900-dollar fine. The judge also ordered the Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital in Abuja, Dr Olusegun Ajuwon, to take her into custody and treat her at the expense of the Nigerian government. Chidinma was arrested on August 11 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
