The Shoura Council held here today a regular session presided over by the chairman Dr. Salih bin Homaid. At the beginning of the session, the chairman briefed the council on the meeting he held on Saturday with Norwegian ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Jan Bugge-Mahrt who expressed the apology of the Norwegian government and people to the Muslims throughout the world for publishing cartoons blasphemous to the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) by a Norwegian newspaper. The chairman told the council about efforts by the Norwegians to contain the crisis. During the session, the council voted on the draft regulation of road traffic. Following the session, Secretary General of the council Dr. Salih Almalik told Saudi Press Agency that that the council will submit the draft regulation to the king. The Secretary General of the council added that the council approved the draft regulation of the Unified Industrial Organization of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
